WildEarth Guardians. A FORCE FOR NATURE.

John Horning Takes Direct Action To Keep It In The Ground

Dear Guardian,

John Horning arrested 9.15.16 at the DOI

Wow!

Just moments ago, WildEarth Guardians Executive Director John Horning was arrested in Washington, D.C. for blocking the lobby of the Department of the Interior.

He was joined by Indigenous, frontline, and environmental leaders from across the nation who were also arrested.

John took this action to send an unmistakable message. To protect our climate, our future, and our public lands, President Obama must end the obsolete and controversial program of leasing our public lands and waters to dirty energy companies. We’ve got to Keep It in the Ground!

Let’s hope this message is heard loud and clear in the White House. If you haven’t yet, please send a letter to President asking to end new fossil fuel leasing.

Your voice is helping the Keep It in the Ground message get louder than ever. Thank you.

As he was being hauled away, John remarked, “With our future at stake, we have to be bold and take big risks.”

Not everybody can these risks, but we can all raise our voices. Please speak out today and help us build momentum.

And don’t worry, John’s okay.  But wow, we’ve stepped it up in a big way and we’re definitely not going back.

We are going to win this campaign. We are going to Keep It in the Ground!

For the wild,
