Dear Guardian,
It’s day one of the Trump Administration and already the
President is doing the bidding of his oil and gas industry donors.
Speak out today and defend our public lands from fracking.
Tell the Trump Administration that Americans come before the profits of the
fossil fuel industry.
Right now, Trump’s Bureau of Land Management is proposing to
auction off hundreds of thousands of acres of our public lands in the American
West for fracking.
These include lands next to Zion National Park in southern
Utah, the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest in Nevada, Wyoming’s high plains,
and Montana’s Yellowstone River.
All these places are threatened. And now, more than ever, we need your help to
protect them.
Send a letter today to Trump’s Bureau of Land
Management. On this first day of his
Administration, let’s deliver the loudest message possible that we won’t
tolerate our irreplaceable public lands being sacrificed for fracking.
This is a massive giveaway. All told, nearly 400,000 acres are on the auction block here in the
American West. That’s an area nearly
three times the size of Zion National Park, an incredible national
treasure.
Sadly, while the fossil fuel industry will profit handily,
you and I will be stuck paying the bill in the form of carbon pollution, water
contamination, and lost lands. Here’s
what we’re facing:
In Montana, 156 leases spanning 69,000 acres are proposed for sale
in May of this year.
In Nevada, 106 leases comprising 195,000 acres are proposed for
sale in June of this year.
In Utah, 23 leases covering 28,000 acres are proposed for sale in
June of this year.
And in Wyoming, 144 leases encompassing 121,000 acres are proposed
for sale in August of this year.
Now is our chance to push back. Your voice will help build an effective
resistance to the Trump Administration’s “frack at all costs” agenda. And please, share this alert with your
friends and family!
The Trump Administration is hell-bent on sacrificing our
public lands for fossil fuels, but we can overcome, believe me. The resistance starts now and we won’t let up
until our lands, our climate, and our future are safe.
Let’s ring in Trump’s inauguration by standing
up to the oil and gas industry and their cronies in the Bureau of Land
Management.
