WildEarth Guardians filed a lawsuit in 2015 seeking to protect and restore the Rio Grande ecosystem in one of its last wild reaches known as the San Acacia Reach. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has approved construction of a 43-mile concrete levee along the Reach, threatening future large-scale restoration of this unique segment of the Rio Grande and imperiling the handful of listed species already struggling to survive.
