Dear Guardian,
Last week the scientists reviewing the plan to strip the gray wolf of Endangered Species Act protections gave the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service a failing grade on its proposal to abandon wolf recovery.
They confirmed what we knew all along: the Service
failed to follow the best science when it proposed to remove wolves from the
list of endangered species. Still the Service has failed to withdraw their flawed
plan for wolves. The Service must be held to its promise to follow the science
and keep wolves protected under the Act.
Watch our new short video, share it with your friends, and
take action to ensure that Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell keeps her
word, follows the science, and withdraws the proposal to remove protections for
the gray wolf.
The Service failed to abide by the Endangered Species Act’s
requirement to make decisions solely on the basis of the best available science,
instead bowing to political pressure to strip protections for wolves.
Wolves deserve better. Help us protect wolves from being
poisoned, trapped and gunned down.
Scientific integrity is essential to the survival and
recovery of imperiled species: tell the Service to follow the science and keep
the gray wolf protected.
