My 100 Mile-a-Day Adventure Race Begins in Just 72 Hours

Dear Guardian,

In case you missed my email the other day, my name is Nat Cobb. I’m a WildEarth Guardians' board member, and it’s time to begin my 2,750 mile ride for wolves along the Spine of the Continent.

Today I leave for Banff, and on Friday the 13th will start the Tour Divide, a mountain bike adventure to make Ulysses jealous!

This Rides with Wolves adventure is a fundraiser aimed at preserving both wolves and wildlife habitat. I will be riding from Banff in Alberta Canada all the way south to Antelope Wells, New Mexico.

I’ve already raised $22,052 toward my goal of $25,000, but I still need a few dollar-a-mile supporters, or a whole bunch of penny-a-mile supporters. Would you ride a hundred miles for a buck? I will! Visit my donation page to contribute.

If you want a little unconventional fun or to live vicariously, follow me and the other riders on these sites:

  • During the race, riders call in and leave brief recorded messages, posted here . Listen to our stories about wolves and bears, the beauty, our challenges, and more.

I'm looking forward to a great ride and an incredible adventure! Again, please consider joining the many generous folks who have already pledged or donated. Thank you for supporting Guardians’ work to keep the West wild.

I’m headed to the mountains! Keep an eye on my Facebook page for pictures of the adventure in July.
