It’s No Holds Barred for the Grouse
Dear Guardian,
We’ve got a fight on our hands.
We’re up against the robber barons of the oil and gas
industry that want to turn our public lands into their own corporate profits—and
if they are successful they’re going to succeed at causing the extinction of
the greater sage grouse.
Erik Molvar, our Sagebrush Sea Campaign Director, told the New York Times in a front-page news story
this past Sunday, “The sage grouse is
the conservation battle of our generation.”
Erik and WildEarth Guardians are featured in a video news
story by the Times that accompanied
the front-page article about the fight for the protection of the greater sage
grouse.
We can’t do this without you. Watch the video and then let me know me if you’re inspired to join our fight
to protect sage grouse from the oil and gas industry. We need you—to comment on
agency plans, write opinion pieces and if you are able, to financially support
the work.
As Erik said, we believe the sage grouse is the conservation
battle of our generation because protecting the grouse means protecting up to 80 million acres of
habitat on public lands.
It’s a campaign that you’ve been supporting for more than a
decade.
And now things are starting to heat up with Congress,
western Governors like Wyoming Governor Matt Mead—also featured in the
video—and industry groups all trying to green wash their habitat destruction.
We’re not going to let them get away with it. Our aim is to
protect the grouse and the beautiful Sagebrush Sea where it resides.
Please watch the video and then tell me how
you’d like to help us win the conservation battle of our generation.
Thanks for being a Guardian!
For the Grouse,
