Dear Guardian,
I’m outraged.
Coal companies are exploiting loopholes to rip off
Americans, fueling climate change and decimating our public lands.
I think it’s time to close these loopholes. Join me and sign our petition today telling
the U.S. Interior Department to start putting the American public first.
Because these loopholes are an unmitigated disaster. You and I know we have to keep coal in the
ground for our climate, but they’re actually encouraging more mining.
I think it’s high time to stop giving industry a break. Sign our petition today and tell Interior to
get rid of dirty coal loopholes.
Like loopholes that let companies buy publicly owned coal
for pennies on the dollar, only to reap windfall profits by exporting it to
Asia. Can you believe this?
It’s our climate at stake and our public lands in the
American West. With 40% of our nation’s
coal coming from public lands, places that we love, like Bryce Canyon National
Park in Utah, the Thunder Basin National Grassland of Wyoming, and Colorado’s West Elk Mountains, are all at risk.
If we have any chance of keeping coal in the ground where it
belongs, we have to stop giving the coal industry a break.
Join me and lend your support by May 6th. For our climate and our future, let’s close
the coal loopholes!
For the wild,
