Dear
Guardian,
Several
years ago I was shocked to learn that a secretive federal program uses my tax
money to wage a devastating war on wildlife.
Wildlife Services, a program of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, spent tens of millions of our taxpayer dollars to kill and maim millions of wild animals last year. This tax day, join us in telling the federal government not to use our tax dollars to slaughter wildlife.
Wildlife Services uses dangerous, cruel methods including trapping, poisoning, and aerial gunning, putting imperiled species and our companion animals at risk. The program ignores science about the importance of a full compliment of native species to healthy, thriving ecosystems. We’re holding them accountable in the courtroom, and now its time to strip away public funding for their scorched earth approach to wildlife management.
Taxpayer money should provide vital services, not destroy wildlife and ecosystems at the behest of the livestock industry and agricultural special interests.
Feeling outraged by the bloodshed funded by your tax dollars?
Then please help us defund this destructive and wasteful program. Contact your congressional representatives and ask them to make sure your tax money does not fund this destructive, out-of-control program.
Do your part to protest this misuse of your tax dollars and protect wolves, bears, coyotes, prairie dogs and the other native animals in the program’s crosshairs. Defund Wildlife Services today.
For the wild,
Bethany Cotton
