While the World is Watching,
We’ll Be There
Dear Guardian,
As the world prepares to watch
the political drama unfold in
Philadelphia next week at the Democratic National Convention, the city will be
packed with reporters and politicians who need to take action to keep fossil
fuels in the ground. That’s why WildEarth Guardians will be there—to elevate
the call to end federal fossil fuel leasing and to keep half of our nation’s
carbon reserves safe in the ground.
The Keep
it in the Ground movement has been gaining momentum, and now we’re taking
the campaign from the West out to the East Coast. We hope you’ll join us if you
can.
First, Guardians will join thousands for the March for a Clean Energy Revolution, where we’ll call for an end to federal fossil fuel
leasing on public lands and waters and a just transition to clean energy. Then, we’ll make sure that call reverberates
throughout the convention.
We’ll be in Philadelphia to
make sure climate justice is at the forefront of the conversations that shape
the future of our nation’s politics. Because it’s simple—if we don’t listen to
scientists and keep fossil fuels in the ground now, that future looks a lot less
promising.
For the wild,
Jeremy Nichols
