Meet our Volunteers
Susan Cover was born and raised in New Jersey. She worked at the University of Delaware as a computer programmer/analyst for 17 years and left full time employment in 1998. She loves being outdoors and loves to hike, bike, and horseback ride. Moving to Santa Fe in 2005 gave her many opportunities to participate in those activities. Susan started volunteering for WildEarth Guardians in the summer of 2010 and helps maintain the Guardian's website.
Patricia Reifel has been living in Santa Fe since 2004, which has been a return to her roots, as her mother’s family is from Santa Clara Pueblo. Born and raised in Chicago, New Mexico was her childhood summer home and she learned early to appreciate our wonderful environment. A bookkeeper and program manager for many decades, she is now looking forward to retirement within a few years. She usually only volunteers at the annual Gala, but hopes to give more time to WildEarth Guardians after retirement.
Mindy Turner has lived in Santa Fe for 15 years and works as a designer. She started volunteering for WildEarth Guardians 9 years ago when she took her 6 month old daughter, in a Björn, to help plant trees along the Santa Fe River with the Stream Team. From Björn to backpack, to pregnant with her second, she continued the tradition of bringing her kids to plant trees, go to rallies, and volunteer for the group. She feels that it's important to give her girls the appreciation of "wild places" and the opportunity to speak out for them.
