Each year, federal agencies' hired guns shoot wolves, mountain lions and coyotes from low-flying planes and helicopters. More animals - like grizzly bears and river otters - are ensnared or killed by cyanide booby traps. In all, millions of America's majestic animals have died from these cruel methods. Question - Not Required - Dear President Obama, Sec. of Int. Salazar, and Sec. of Ag. Vilsak: I urge you to sign an Executive Order to abolish the most egregious, indiscriminate, and cruel means used to kill our nation's native carnivores (such as wolves, coyotes and cougars), including aerial gunning and the toxicants sodium cyanide and Compound 1080 used by the Wildlife Services agency and others. I oppose aerial gunning, which is a dangerous and reckless practice that has resulted in numerous accidents that have harmed and even killed agents. I also strongly oppose poisons on public lands, which cause the indiscriminate death of tens of thousands of native animals each year at an annual cost of over $120 million. I am signing this petition to urge you to end the war on wildlife. I support coexistence, not killing.
